So why Dialog 3?

"Knowledge is constructed in the dialogue between people who are doing things together”  (Franklin, 1996, quoted in Wells, 1999)

In human societies there will always be differences of views and interests. But the reality today is that we are all interdependent and have to co-exist on this small planet. We could induce a global change in all realms of life, but for this we need a place, an arena, where speech is free, global, and accessible to all; and the Internet is precisely that arena. In it, we need to establish creative and pluralistic discussions regarding the ways to create a new culture of mutual discussions.

Dialog 3 is dedicated to promoting a platform in free exchange of ideas and information on a broad range of contemporary issues, social, political, economic and cultural to be a fundamental relevance for transformation. A “familial” interconnection, built upon mutual understanding and responsibility in which we are able to make and view the right calculation.

How far can it go?

When dialog is systemic in a culture, when it has been embedded: it shapes every institution from marriage to bureaucracy, from education to health care, from politics to business. Everyone in the culture is trying to explore, to connect with each other, to make things possible, and to learn and grow together.

Dialog 3 involves a dialogical approach to aliveness wherever it exists - in people, in nature, in all situations. It can become a characteristic quality of a life, a group, an entire culture!

    Some of the many possibilities:

  • interpersonal dialog in all relationships
  • community dialog among citizens exploring and co-creating their shared future
  • group dialog in organizations or communities we're part of or connected to
  • inter-group dialog among groups and organizations, particularly those with current or potential conflict
  • issue-oriented dialog among stakeholders or among those interested (in the case of learning activities, or issue-oriented citizen panels)
  • regular dialog programs woven into coherent activities that have recognized roles in the community, organization or culture - such as "to maintain high-quality relationships among diverse subcultures" or "to link the divisions of our organization."
  • systemic dialog - which is the result of all of these and the context in which they all sustainably flourish. It consists of a widespread expectation among people that dialogue will happen whenever there is need to settle disputes, make decisions or learn and grow together; that there are many forms of dialog useful for various purposes which most people have a working knowledge of and access to expertise in; and that dialog is a normal and desirable part of life - in relationships, groups, organizations, communities and culture.
